In the simpler terms, a lab created diamond is a diamond that has been made by people instead of mined out of the earth. Lab grown manufacturers use two methods to produce diamonds. These diamond creation techniques are high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). HPHT is a process that starts with a seed of diamond material and grows a full diamond just like natural does under extremely high pressure and temperature. CVD is the newest way to grow synthetic diamonds. In the CVD process, a chamber is filled with a carbon rich vapor. Carbon atoms are extracted from the rest of the gas and deposited on a water of diamond crystal which establishes the crystal structure as the gemstone grows layer by layer. It is hard for one to tell the difference between a natural and lab created diamond, without the help of professional equipment. Lab created diamonds are beautiful, exquisite, less expensive, and durable, which have risen in popularity over the years.
